Sea Quest Hawaii has something no other tour in Kona has – USCG-certified rigid hull rafts, custom-built for the Kona Coast. We have our vessels designed and built specifically for stability, maneuverability, and speed, which allows us to operate smoothly and comfortably in the exact ocean conditions we have here on Hawaii Island.
Because our boats are nimble and responsive, we can safely explore sea caves, lava tubes, and remote coastline areas that larger boats cannot access.
We pride ourselves on designing incredibly comfortable seating and interiors, and we keep our tours small, so you can really experience the water and the wonders within. With a small group, we can offer you a more personalized experience than the big catamarans or large boat tours.

Our Fleet
Lilikoi
Named after the Hawaiian word for passion fruit, Lilikoi reflects the vibrant colors and bold spirit of Hawai‘i. This nimble vessel carries just fourteen guests along with your USCG-licensed captain and crew, creating an intimate and adventurous experience along the Kona Coast.
Ioana
Named for ‘Io, the Hawaiian hawk and a symbol of vision and strength, Ioana represents the spirit of exploration along the Kona Coast. She is slightly larger but still keeps the experience personal, carrying a maximum of eighteen guests on
our daytime excursions.
Puanani
Meaning “beautiful flower,” Puanani reflects the natural beauty that surrounds us on the Kona Coast. This vessel offers the same comfortable, small-group experience with space for up to eighteen guests during daytime tours.
Keala
Meaning “the pathway” or “the way,” Keala represents the journey along Hawai‘i’s dramatic coastline. She carries up to eighteen guests on daytime excursions and up to twenty-seven guests for our Night Manta Experience.
Kalala
Named for a beloved dolphin known to frequent our waters, Kalala honors the playful marine life that makes Kona so special. Like Keala, she carries up to eighteen guests on daytime tours and up to twenty-seven guests for the Night Manta Experience.
Night Manta Experience (Keala & Kalala)
Our primary manta boat can carry up to 27 guests for the short ride, but at the site, we divide into two groups of 13–14, each with its own light board and two in-water guides for a small-group experience.
Most Sea Quest vessels include shade covers. Others are intentionally open to allow access to sea caves and lava tubes, a highlight of Kona Coast exploration. The type of vessel utilized depends on the tour you are booking. Please contact us if you have any special requirements.
All of our Big Island snorkeling tours include snorkel gear (including prescription masks!) and snacks (Premium Morning Snorkel and Expedition South Kona tours add a deli-lunch). Bottled water is always available. All we ask is that you wear a bathing suit, bring a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a camera… Oh, and of course, your sense of adventure!
